MECHANISM OF ACTION
Research Suggests
Glucomannan is the primary ingredient in Glucomannan+. It is a soluble dietary fibre that is derived from the root of the konjac plant. It is highly viscous, which means that upon consumption, it absorbs water and expands within our digestive tracts. In doing so, it reduces the absorption of carbohydrates and cholesterol from our foods. It also slows down the rate that at which the food leaves our body1. The expansion in the digestive tract creates the feeling of fullness, leading clients to consume less food. This property makes Glucomannan+ the perfect product for clients who want to be successful on a calorie-controlled menu plan. Research suggests Glucomannan also aids in weight loss2,3 and improves health by reducing cholesterol18 and blood glucose levels, and by ensuring more regular bowel movements.1,2,3
Gymnema is an herb that has been used for over 2000 years in India’s Ayurvedic medicine to help manage blood glucose levels. Research studies suggest that it lowers blood glucose levels by inhibiting glucose uptake.4 In addition, gymnema also provides the great benefit of being able to alter taste buds to suppress the sensation of sweet foods.5
Chromium is an essential mineral involved in regulating blood glucose levels by enhancing insulin activity. It stabilizes blood sugar, resulting in less hunger and more steady energy throughout the day. It also helps a number of enzymes in glucose metabolism and energy production. Chromium is also involved in supporting mechanisms involving carbohydrate and fat metabolism.6,7
